IIT-Bombay Remote Center

MRSPTU’s First & Only Remote Center under NME-ICT Scheme (MHRD, Govt. of India)

It is our proud privilege that BBSBEC (Remote Center ID : 1390)  has started functioning as a Remote Center of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay which offers workshops for students and faculty. The lectures transmitted through National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-ICT) are ably supported by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India.

Live online courses/workshops certified by IIT Bombay are delivered by IIT faculty members. Video streamed workshops are well complimented by practical open discussion hands-on-sessions (both Tutorials and Labs). The workshops are intended to enhance the technical skills as well as knowledge of both educators and students to meet the quality standards as demanded by industry, research & academia.

Dr. Kanwalvir Singh Dhindsa, Professor (CSE) is the Remote Center Coordinator (RCC) &  Prof. Atul Kumar, Assistant Prof. (CSE) is the A-VIEW Coordinator (AVC) at BBSBEC.

“Train 10 thousand teachers” is a major initiative under the NME-ICT (National Mission on Education Through ICT: Empowerment of Students and Teachers through Synchronous & Asynchronous Instruction”, in which IIT Kharagpur and IIT Bombay are working as partner institutes to improve the teaching skills of engineering college teachers of the country in core Engineering and Science subjects. The participating faculty members attend lectures, tutorial and lab sessions at BBSBEC remote center. The lecture transmission and live interaction takes place through distance mode using internet and advanced A-VIEW technology.
