Three days Workshop on Applied Solid Mechanics

Department of Mechanical Engineering has organised three days workshop in association with IIT Mandi . Dr Mohamad Talha, professor from IIT Mandi took lectures on Applied Solid Mechanics. It was great opportunity for students as well as college to had these great lectures those are very beneficial for the development of skills like designing of product, basics of Applied Solid Mechanics, deep concepts of strength of material, formation of different stresses inside the material and its detailed analysis with the help of different software and mathematical modelling etc. The basic purpose behind this workshop is to make students familiar with the use of solid mechanics in the process of manufacturing products and to aware the concepts of mechanics. It is great a opportunity for our fourth year students to attend eight weeks training in IIT Mandi campus as said by Dr. Mohamad Talha. Inspirational lecture is given by our respected principal G.S Lamba, he said it is very important to understand the basic concepts as per industrial need and for overall development of student and the head of the department Dr. Lakhvir Singh said this workshop is very beneficial for students those are interested in designing of products and on research side (R&D) and it will give boost to students to think deeply and to create innovative ideas for the betterment of society. Our faculty members professor Sanjeev Bhandari, professor Sanjeev Kumar has given their great contribution for this workshop. An appreciable feedback was given by Ramandeep Singh(Fourth year ME student), he said applied solid mechanics is very important in the field of manufacturing industry as well as in robotics field and he heartily thanked HOD Mechanical Department Dr. Lakhvir Singh and Dr. Mohammad Talha for this great opportunity.
