“IIT-Kanpur – Smart Hacks Online Quiz” was  successfully conducted on 6 June 2021 by Department of Computer Science & Engg. Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib in collaboration with EICT Academy IIT-Kanpur . This online Quiz provided platform for the students to test their subject knowledge and skillset and was conducted for software language such as C and C++. The second and final phase of same will be the Mega Finale to be conducted at IIT Kanpur.

Overall, 54 students of BTech (CSE) – 3^rd, 5^th and 7^th semester participated in online quiz. Students, Gunjot singh and Manpreet Kaur from CSE Department were declared winners of the quiz. They are eligible to compete in a National level Hackathon ‘SMART HACKS – 2021’. IIT-Kanpur shall host all such winners from the best of the institutions across the country, who will then compete amongst themselves for a total of Rs. 1.25Lac prize money. During the finals, the students will also be interacting with faculty mentors along with some leading Industry professionals and startups. Prof. Sandeep Kaur Benipal (AP, CSE) conducted the overall event.

Dr. Lakhvir Singh, Principal BBSBEC congratulated and appreciated the whole-hearted and sincere efforts of faculty and staff  of CSE department for the same in making such activities successful. Dr. Kanwalvir Singh Dhindsa (Professor & Head, CSE Department) motivated the students to take part in such activities for their overall technical development and exposure to latest technologies.
