A One-day Awareness Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights was organized by BBSBEC-IIC on 22 February 2021.  Dr. Manpreet Kaur, President BBSBEC -IIC started the workshop by giving a brief introduction about the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). She introduced the students to various events that are being conducted by BBSBEC IIC, the benefits of being of part of IIC etc. After this introduction, Speaker of the Day Dr. Dinesh Sharma an Innovation Ambassador by MoE’s IIC and from CCET Sector 26, Chandigarh started the workshop. During this session he discussed the importance and need of patents, copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual properties in detail giving various examples and case studies. The procedure to file a patent, its registration and commercialism was explained. The speaker discussed the classification of innovations. The students and the faculty were inspired and motivated to invent something novel. The event was concluded by Maj. Gen. Dr. G.S Lamba (BBSBEC Principal) with a token of thanks to the speaker.
