Workshop on “Sustainable Design and Manufacturing Practices in Automotive Engineering”
Posted By bbsbec2 on April 11, 2018Department of Mechanical Engineering, BBSBEC, Fatehgarh Sahib in association with Institution of Engineers (India) has organized a two days workshop on “Sustainable Design and Manufacturing Practices in Automotive Engineering”, from 05.04.2018 to 06.04.2018. The main focus of the workshop was to highlight the recent advances in engine combustion technologies; engine design & optimization techniques and Vehicle emissions control systems. The workshop has also addressed the sustainable design and manufacturing practices based on the entire life cycle (from ‘cradle to grave’) of vehicles. The participants were also benefitted a lot from the experiences of Er. Daljit Singh Dogra, Sr. Manager, R& D, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mohali. Er Dogra gave speech on the emerging topic of CRDI Technology for Tractors in India.
Maj. Gen. (Dr) GS Lamba, Principal has said that the course helped the students to learn the various 21st Century practices of Design and Manufacturing in Automotive Engineering. Dr. Lakhvir Singh, Convener of the work shop, shared his views regarding the importance of such events for the academic growth and acknowledged the benign presence of the distinguished guests and appreciated the zeal of the organizers. Prof Harpreet Singh Aujla and Prof Birdevinder Singh, Coordinators, conveyed their heartiest thanks to all the participants and department staff members for their efforts and participation in making the workshop a remarkable journey which came to an end with fruitful gains to the like-minded engineering community. Various Deans, heads and Faculty members were also present during the valedictory of the workshop.
