Online Women’s Day Quiz

 

To celebrate International Women’s Day, the TechnoClub of the ECE Department organized an Online Women’s Day Quiz aimed at recognizing and appreciating the achievements of women across various fields. The event provided a platform for students to test their knowledge and gain insights into women’s contributions to society.

The quiz was coordinated by Dr. Raju Sharma under the guidance of Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur, HOD of the ECE Department. The student organizers, including Trilok Vishwas, Rajeev Kumar Tiwari, Waseem Ahmed, and Prabhjot Kaur, played a vital role in conducting the event smoothly.

The quiz consisted of 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and participants were given 30 minutes to complete the test. A total of 126 students enthusiastically participated, showcasing their awareness of women’s empowerment and contributions to different domains.

To appreciate their participation and efforts, e-certificates were awarded to all participants. The event was a great success, engaging students in a meaningful way and fostering awareness about the invaluable role of women in shaping society.

Expert Talk on “Power Electronics & Startups”

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the TechnoClub of the ECE Department organized an expert talk on “Power Electronics & Startups” on February 25, 2025, at 10:30 AM in Room R3. The session was coordinated by Dr. Raju Sharma and Dr. Sonia, under the esteemed leadership of Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur, HOD, ECE Department.

Objective:

The session aimed to provide insights into emerging trends in power electronics and how innovations in this field can be leveraged to build successful startups.

Event Details:

The expert talk featured an insightful discussion on the role of power electronics in modern industries, particularly in electric vehicles, renewable energy, and smart power management systems. The expert speaker elaborated on the latest advancements in power semiconductor devices, energy storage solutions, and efficient power conversion techniques, highlighting how these technologies are shaping the future of sustainable energy solutions.

A significant portion of the session focused on entrepreneurial opportunities in power electronics, addressing market demand, funding possibilities, and government initiatives that support tech startups. The speaker presented real-life case studies of successful startups in the power sector, demonstrating how young innovators can turn ideas into profitable businesses.

Attendees also gained valuable knowledge about business incubation centers, venture capital funding, and startup accelerators that support technopreneurs in the power electronics domain. The discussion emphasized the importance of research, product innovation, and collaboration with industry leaders to ensure startup success.

Towards the end of the session, a highly interactive Q&A round allowed students to engage with the expert, discussing challenges in power electronics startups, the future of the industry, and career growth opportunities. The TechnoClub of the ECE Department successfully organized an expert lecture on “Entrepreneurial Resilience: Overcoming Challenges in Startups” on 21/02/2025 (11 AM) at R3. Prof. Gurinderpal Kaur, an esteemed expert in entrepreneurship and business management, conducted the session. The event was coordinated by Dr. Sonia and Dr. Raju Sharma, under the guidance of Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur (HOD, ECE Department).

Objective:

The primary objective of this expert lecture was to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to handle setbacks, failures, and competitive challenges in the startup ecosystem. The session aimed to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs by providing insights into overcoming business obstacles, building resilience, and sustaining long-term growth in a highly dynamic market.

“Green Entrepreneurship: Business Opportunities in Energy Conservation”

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), in collaboration with the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department, organized an expert lecture on “Green Entrepreneurship: Business Opportunities in Energy Conservation” on February 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Room R1. The session was coordinated by Dr. Sonia and Dr. Raju Sharma, under the guidance of Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur, HOD, ECE Department. The expert speaker for the session was Dr. Divya Gupta, who provided valuable insights into the role of entrepreneurship in promoting energy conservation and sustainability.The primary objective of this expert lecture was to create awareness about green entrepreneurship and explore business opportunities in energy conservation. The session aimed to educate students about sustainable business models, energy-efficient solutions, government initiatives, and startup prospects in the renewable energy sector.Dr. Divya Gupta emphasized the growing importance of green business opportunities, innovative energy-saving solutions, government policies, and startup support in the energy sector. The lecture also covered real-world case studies of successful green ventures, demonstrating how sustainability-driven innovations can lead to profitable businesses while addressing environmental concerns.

The session was highly interactive, with students and faculty actively participating in discussions on energy-efficient technologies and their potential impact on the future. A Q&A session allowed attendees to seek clarity on challenges and opportunities in the field.

 

 

Expert Lecture

“Innovate to Elevate: The Power of Entrepreneurial Mindset”

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in collaboration with the Institute Innovation Council (IIC), organized an expert lecture on “Innovate to Elevate: The Power of Entrepreneurial Mindset” on January 21, 2025, at 10:30 AM in Room No. R3. The event, coordinated by Dr. Raju Sharma and Dr. Sonia under the guidance of HOD Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur, was attended by around 50 students.

The objective of the lecture was to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students by emphasizing innovation, risk-taking, and problem-solving skills. Prof. Maninder Kaur, the expert speaker, elaborated on the importance of entrepreneurship in today’s world, sharing insights on how students can leverage creativity and technology to develop successful ventures. Real-world case studies of entrepreneurs were discussed, providing practical knowledge and inspiration. The session also featured an interactive Q&A segment where students actively engaged with the speaker, discussing various challenges and opportunities in the startup ecosystem.

The key outcome of the session was the enhanced awareness and motivation among students to explore innovative ideas and develop entrepreneurial skills. Technical Talk on Education & Innovation 
The Department of Electronics and Communication, in collaboration with the Institute Innovation Council (IIC) of BBSBEC, organized a Technical Talk on Education & Innovation on November 11, 2024, as part of the celebrations. The event aimed to highlight the importance of innovation in education and its role in shaping future technological advancements.The session was delivered by Prof. Prabhjot Kaur, who shared insights on research-driven learning, real-world applications, and the impact of technology in education. The event was coordinated by Dr. Raju Sharma and Dr. Sonia, with support from HOD Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur. Students actively participated in discussions, gaining a deeper understanding of innovation and its significance in academics and career growth.
E-Quiz on Rights2Rise 

 

 The Technoclub of the ECE Department organized an engaging online quiz on October 25, 2024, focusing on Women’s Rights in India. Aimed at raising awareness and promoting gender equality, the event attracted 62 students from various departments. Registration closed on October 24 at 10:00 AM, with the quiz link sent to registered students at 5:00 PM on the event day. The quiz remained accessible for 45 minutes, allowing participants to complete it at their own pace. Students who faced access issues could contact coordinators via the provided helpline numbers, and a WhatsApp group was created for timely updates. The event, coordinated by Dr. Raju Sharma (Technoclub Convenor) and Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur (HOD, ECE), successfully encouraged students to enhance their knowledge and understanding of women’s rights in India.

 

 

E-Quiz on Swacch Bharat

On October 2, 2024, the TechnoClub of the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department organized an online E-Quiz in celebration of Gandhi Jayanti and to promote awareness about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The event was open to participants of all age groups, attracting 140 enthusiastic individuals, including students, faculty members, and members of the public. The quiz aimed to increase knowledge about cleanliness, waste management, and sustainable practices as part of the Swachh Bharat initiative, a national campaign for a cleaner and greener India.

The E-Quiz featured 25 multiple-choice questions covering topics such as sanitation practices, waste segregation, cleanliness drives, and environmental sustainability. Participants had 30 minutes to complete the quiz, which was conducted online, allowing them to receive instant results upon completion. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Raju Sharma, Convenor of the TechnoClub, and Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur, Head of the ECE Department. The student coordinators—Trilok Vishwas, Rajeev Kumar Tiwari, Waseem Ahmed, and Prabhjot Kaur—played an essential role in ensuring the smooth execution of the quiz.

The quiz was highly successful in raising awareness about the Swachh Bharat mission, with participants expressing their commitment to contributing to cleanliness efforts in their communities. The event not only fostered an understanding of sustainable practices but also highlighted the importance of individual responsibility in maintaining a cleaner environment.

 

Poster Presentation Competition

The Poster Presentation Competition on Innovative Ideas and Startup Concepts was successfully organized by the TechnoClub of the ECE Department in collaboration with BBSBEC’s Innovation Cell. The event, led by Convenor Dr. Raju Sharma and supported by HOD, ECE Department Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur, showcased the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of the participants. Under the guidance of Student Coordinators Trilok Vishwas, Rajeev Kumar Tiwari, Waseem Ahmed, Aman Kumar, and Prabhjot Kaur, the competition allowed students to present their innovative ideas and startup concepts.

The competition saw many outstanding posters, and the winners were as follows: 1st prize was awarded to Rajeev Kumar Tiwari, while 2nd prize was shared by Mushir-Ul-Haq and the team of Khushan Singh and Ranbir Singh. The 3rd prize was awarded to two teams—Tania, Khyati, and Prikshit, and Sandeep Kumar Tiwari.

The participants demonstrated impressive creativity and innovation. Dr. Raju Sharma praised the efforts of the student coordinators and participants, encouraging them to continue engaging in such initiatives that inspire growth and innovation. Dr.Kiranpreet Kaur congratulated the TechnoClub members and participants, emphasizing the importance of these activities in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and creative thinking. The event was a great success and a testament to the student’s ability to think outside the box and embrace new ideas.

 

Teachers’ Day Celebration

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 12, 2024, with great enthusiasm and heartfelt appreciation. Organized by the students, the event aimed to express their deep gratitude to the teaching faculty for their dedication and hard work. The celebration highlighted the important role teachers play in shaping their future.

Event Highlights:

  1. Welcome and Introduction:
    The program began with a warm welcome speech by a student representative, expressing the significance of Teachers’ Day and how teachers play a crucial role in shaping the future of students.
  2. Cake Cutting Ceremony:
    To mark the occasion, a cake-cutting ceremony was organized. The Head of the Department, Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur, along with faculty members, cut the cake, symbolizing the collective celebration of the day. The students cheered and applauded, making it a joyous moment for everyone.
  3. Poetry Recitations:
    Several students presented self-composed poems dedicated to their teachers, appreciating their guidance and support. These heartfelt poems expressed the emotional bond between students and teachers, making it a touching part of the event.
  4. Musical Performances:
    The celebration continued with musical performances by the students. They sang melodious songs to honor their teachers. Some students performed solo, while others sang in groups, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere in the hall.

Innovate and Design: Canva for Entrepreneurs

 

On August 16, 2024, the TechnoClub of the ECE Department and BBSBEC’s Innovation Council hosted a dynamic lecture titled “Innovate and Design: Canva for Entrepreneurs.” The session, coordinated by Dr. Raju Sharma and led by Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur, commenced at 10:40 AM. The lecture provided entrepreneurs with practical insights into leveraging Canva for effective design and branding. Participants engaged in interactive discussions and hands-on exercises, exploring Canva’s features to enhance their entrepreneurial ventures. The event was well-received, with attendees gaining valuable skills in visual communication and design, essential for their business success.

Plant for the Planet: Tree Planting Initiative

The ECE Technoclub organized an online event titled “Plant for the Planet: Tree Planting Initiative” on July 1, 2024. Spearheaded by faculty coordinator Dr. Raju Sharma, the event aimed to encourage participants to contribute to environmental sustainability by planting a tree. Participants were invited to capture the moment with a photo and share it via a designated upload link.

The initiative received enthusiastic participation, highlighting a collective commitment to environmental stewardship. The event successfully raised awareness about the importance of nurturing nature and emphasized our shared responsibility to create a greener planet. The Technoclub expresses its gratitude to all who participated and made this initiative a success.

Tricky Circuit Event

The ECE Department and BBSBEC Innovation Council successfully organized the “Tricky Circuit” event, testing students’ basic circuit design skills. The competition took place in two phases: Phase 1 was an MCQ Test (Elimination Round) held on March 20, 2024, from 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm, where 65 teams of two participants each answered objective-type questions on basic electronics. The top 5 teams advanced to Phase 2, the Circuit Design Round, conducted on March 22, 2024, from 10.30 am to 11.30 am. In this round, teams designed circuits based on combinational logic gates using Tinkercad simulator. Both phases were held in the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department Labs. The event was coordinated by Dr. Raju Sharma.

                                            

Mental Health Awareness Workshop

Conclusion: The Mental Health Awareness Workshop organized by the Technoclub of the ECE department was a significant step towards promoting mental well-being within the community. Coordinators Dr. Raju Sharma and Dr. Sonia played a pivotal role in the success of the event, ensuring that it was both educational and engaging. The workshop not only increased awareness about mental health issues but also equipped participants with the knowledge and tools to support their mental health and that of others.

                                            

  One Day Workshop on Generative AI

On September 14, 2023, the Electronics and Communication Department’s TechnoClub, led by coordinators Dr. Raju Sharma and Dr. Sonia, organized an insightful one-day Generative AI workshop. Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur, Head of the Electronics and Communication Department, graced the event. A B.Voc 1st Semester student Ekamjot Singh delivered expert lectures, covering essential topics like Neural Networks, GANs, and applications of Generative AI. The workshop featured interactive sessions and practical AI model usage, concluding with certificate distribution and feedback collection for future improvements. This event not only introduced students to Generative AI but also inspired them to explore further research and projects in the field, setting the stage for more informative collaborations between TechnoClub and the department.

 

Workshop on Introduction to HTML and Simple CSS

Introduction:
The Techno Club of the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur organized a two-day workshop on Introduction to HTML and Simple CSS. The workshop aimed to provide participants with a basic understanding of web development using HTML tags and a small portion of CSS.

Day 1: June 29, 2023

Session 1: Introduction to HTML (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
The workshop began with an introductory session on HTML. Participants learned about the structure and purpose of HTML tags and how to create basic elements like headings, paragraphs, links, and images. They were given practical exercises to reinforce the concepts learned.

Session 2: Basic CSS Styling (1:00 pm – 4:30 pm)
In the afternoon session, participants were introduced to basic CSS styling. They learned how to modify the appearance of HTML elements using CSS properties such as color, font, and background. The focus was on simple styling techniques, and participants practiced applying CSS to their HTML elements.

Day 2: June 30, 2023

Session 3: More HTML Elements and CSS Styling (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
The morning session of the second day covered additional HTML elements such as lists and tables. Participants learned how to create ordered and unordered lists, as well as structure and style tables using HTML and CSS. They continued practicing CSS styling to enhance the appearance of their HTML elements.

Session 4: Advanced CSS Styling (1:00 pm – 4:30 pm)

In the final session, participants explored more advanced CSS styling techniques. They learned about CSS selectors and how to apply styling to specific elements or groups of elements. Topics like margin, padding, and text alignment were covered to refine the appearance of their web pages. 

 

Aptitude test II conducted for students of the ECE department

The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering conducted the Aptitude test for the students on 01/12/2022. The students received the Google test link in their class WhatsApp groups and submitted the test online. More than 60 students participated in the test and scored well. The results have been analyzed and shared with the students. Brajesh Kumar, student of 3rd semester ME achieved the first position by scoring 22 marks out of 25. The coordinators congratulated the students for appearing in the test and distributed the certificates to all the participants.

Aptitude tests help to round out a student’s profile which is useful in seeking academic and career guidance. The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering conducted the Aptitude test for the students on 24/11/2022. The students received the Google test link in their class WhatsApp groups and submitted the result online. More than 60 students participated in the test and scored well. The results have been analyzed and shared with the students. Komal Zasman, a student of the 5th semester ECE achieved the first position by scoring 24 marks out of 25. The coordinators congratulated the students for appearing in the test and distributed the certificates to all the participants.
